Craziest torture techniques in history
Human beings have been torturing other humans since the dawn of time. The techniques have evolved over time, but some have remained unchanged. These techniques are extremely intense and once explained, it’s no wonder they were used.
The Sicilian bull
It was appeared in ancient Greece. A solid bull made of brass was cast. It had a door on the side. The victim was placed inside through that door, which was then locked. Once that done, a fire was lit below the bull. The end result is not hard to imagine. The idea of having a bull was so that the screaming sounds would seem to emanate from the bull.
The lead sprinkler
A sprinkler was filled with hot materials, like heated water or oil. It was then placed on top of the victim. It’s content dripping little by little on the victim’s body parts. Sometimes molten lead was used. This caused huge damage and eventually death to the victim.
The hanging coffin
This was a metal casing, that was hung from trees or higher parts of the village. Very popular in the middle ages, it consisted of encasing the victim inside this metal casing. The victim were left without food and subsequently died. Crows would then take over to eat the remains.
The cement shoes
A popular amongst the American Mafia, it involves placing the victim’s legs inside cement blocks. The victim along with the cement blocks were then thrown in deep water. Being unable to swim, the victims would then drown to their death.
